We paid a premium for Tailwind Global Pet specifically because they promised live tracking and regular updates while our two cats were in transit to Australia, a major factor in choosing them over cheaper options. That promise fell apart completely on the actual travel day.
We received zero updates during the entire journey. No tracking link, no confirmation the cats had been fed or given water, nothing. I had to manually track their connecting flights myself just to have any idea where they were. Calls to the company went unanswered for over a day. As far as we knew, our cats hadn’t eaten or used a litter box in close to 24 hours.
As I write this, their flight landed over two hours ago and I still have no idea where my cats physically are. Not in the country two hours, and already the company that was supposed to be tracking them can’t tell me where they are.
When I finally did get a response earlier in this process, coordinator Cara’s excuse was that it was a holiday weekend and staff were out of office, with no advance notice from her or company owner Brady that support would be unavailable during our cats’ actual travel day. Drop-off photos we’d been promised arrived a full day late. This is not a minor communication hiccup; it’s the exact service we paid extra for, not delivered, during the single most stressful stretch of the entire relocation.
If you’re moving pets internationally and live tracking matters to you, get it in writing that someone will actually be reachable on travel day, because “premium” apparently doesn’t mean anyone picks up the phone when it counts.
The entire process was straightforward and easy to navigate. Information was provided quickly and clearly, and everything was explained in a way that was easy to understand. I always felt well-informed and like I knew what to expect. I really appreciated Jasmin’s support and would highly recommend working with her and the Tailwind team.
